The Lab & Library for the Solar Energy International campus is designed around sustainability.  Natural cooling and natural lighting are the two main strategies used for both the lab and library.  The way light is brought into the space corresponds to the space's function.  The lab has more views to the campus and direct lighting whereas the library has fewer views and indirect lighting to promote studying and research.  The lab space has large glass doors to allow the lab space to expand to the outdoors and engage the rest of the campus along with allowing space to bring the photovoltaic panels in for maintenance.
